After graduating from the Music Program of the University of Massachusetts Boston, Yurie Minakata focused mainly on scoring for film in the Master of Music in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games program at the Berklee College of Music (Berklee Valencia).
Beginning in 2017, she participated in the production of numerous works as an assistant to the composers Lili Haydn and Yutaka Yamada in Los Angeles. She was tasked with orchestration for many of these works, and the composers knew they could count on her strong orchestration sensibilities. In 2021, she relocated her activity base to Japan and enhanced her activities further. Her carefully crafted music has earned the high regard of creators in various genres for its very high level of affinity with their visuals.
